From physicist to platform developer: how vibe coding is empowering experienced entrepreneurs

Davide Pagnotta settles into his chair with the ease and confidence of someone who's navigated multiple career transformations. From his London office, the Co-Founder and CEO of Wise Humanity is keen to share what he describes as one of the most empowering experiences of his entrepreneurial journey: learning to build a sophisticated training and team support platform - without writing a single line of code.

"There's a real pride in what we do, both personally and as a group," Davide tells me, his enthusiasm evident as he reflects on his time as one of the first graduates from NoCodeLab.ai's four-week Launchpad Accelerator programme.

From Physics to Team Excellence

You've got a seriously impressive background - MSc in Physics, MBA from London Business School, coaching diploma. How did you end up in the world of vibe coding?

"It's been quite a journey! I spent over 20 years in engineering industries, peaking as I led a business unit for a global engineering and construction firm. But I founded Wise Humanity after experiencing firsthand how poor team dynamics can destroy otherwise viable businesses. I had led many global teams, had personal development programs myself, and a coaching diploma, so I'd experienced the difference between good and bad team cultures - that's what drove me to start something focused on fixing those problems."

Since January 2020, Davide has been building Wise Humanity from the ground up. Over nearly six years as Co-Founder and CEO, he's developed a comprehensive team excellence toolkit that has already made a significant impact: working with over 1,100 individuals and 30+ companies, the company has achieved remarkable results.

So you started as a traditional consulting firm, but I can sense there was always a bigger vision there?

"Exactly. For six years, we've been running training programs for individual leaders and teams. We've always wanted to scale - that's always been our vision since day one at Wise Humanity. We always wanted to build something that outgrows the founders. When you do programs like this, the obvious attempt at scaling is creating video courses. However, I felt that they didn't do justice to our methodology, which is all about creating micro-habits in your real life and creating change that way."

The Technology Transformation

That tension between wanting to scale but preserve the methodology sounds like a classic challenge for service-based companies. What made you look into technology solutions?

"I was initially really insecure about my technical abilities, if I'm honest. Traditional software development typically means expensive technical co-founders or employing development agencies - costs that can easily run into tens of thousands. But when I discovered this concept of "vibe coding" - where you can literally tell your application "Add a user login" or "Make the hero section more presentable" and see it happen in real-time - it felt revolutionary."

Driven by client demand and backed by angel investments from satisfied customers, Pagnotta and his team are now transforming their proven toolkit into Hu.Be, a scalable B2B SaaS platform. This represents an ambitious evolution: an AI-powered, gamified micro-learning and micro-habit creation platform for team excellence that integrates team building, personal development, cultural change, play, and well-being.

Hu.be

That transformation from feeling insecure to confident must have been significant. Can you walk me through what actually happened during those five weeks?

"It completely transformed how I think about problem-solving. I may be less technical than Sara (...Founder of NoCodeLab.ai), but at the end of the day, we all support each other, and we all learn together."

Building Independence Through Community

That ongoing technical fluency sounds crucial. What was most surprising about the process for you?

"Gaining confidence in my technical abilities and actually learning to enjoy the development process. Using AI tools like Lovable and Codex, I could develop prototypes and refine them in ways I never thought possible. The programme gave me not just a working MVP, but the technical fluency to iterate independently. That independence is incredibly empowering."

The community aspect sounds important to you. How has that continued beyond the programme itself?

"That's right. The good thing is, once the accelerator is over, the community still stands, and we continue to support each other. We mention, you know, how fantastic our community is to everybody who'll listen. We're really looking forward to seeing how your product progresses. If we can help in any way, we will. We're your biggest cheerleaders."

Scaling With Purpose

It sounds like you've built a dream team around the platform. This transformation from workshops to scalable technology - how fundamental has that shift been for Wise Humanity?

"Completely revolutionised it. We've restructured the entire leadership team to focus on developing our platform. We now have a seasoned team - our COO is a multi-entrepreneur who actually implemented Wise Humanity programs in two of her startups and was so impressed she joined us. Our Head of Product has over 10 years of experience as Product & Design Leader in B2B Startups and Scaleups.  We've evolved from running workshops to developing something that can scale globally while maintaining the human connection that's core to our methodology."

The team brings impressive credentials: over 35 years of combined corporate experience, 25 years in emotional wellbeing + team training, decades designing and scaling SaaS platforms in tech startups. This depth of expertise positions this platform to disrupt the team-building, coaching, and B2B well-being industries, with an ROI that Pagnotta reports is 15x higher than traditional team building and coaching approaches.

Those numbers are quite compelling - and you're living proof of this model. What would you say to other domain experts who might be sitting on brilliant ideas but feeling intimidated by the technical side?

"Don't be afraid to admit what you don't know, but don't let that stop you from trying. This approach allows you to start without expensive developers. You can maintain and update your own products. The barriers between ideas and implementation have fallen dramatically. What used to take months and cost tens of thousands can now be achieved in weeks for a fraction of the cost."

The Future of Entrepreneurship

When I think about experienced entrepreneurs like yourself who have deep domain expertise, this feels like a genuine inflection point. What do you think this shift means for business leaders?

"I think we're witnessing the emergence of a new class of entrepreneurs: technically empowered domain experts who no longer need to choose between deep expertise and digital execution. NoCodeLab aims to increase the global percentage of people who can code - currently just 0.5% - and I think that could unleash a wave of innovation from entrepreneurs who previously couldn't bring their ideas to market. It's democratising entrepreneurship in a profound way."

That community element really does seem to be transformational. For founders who might be considering this path, what would be your key piece of advice?

"The community aspect has been transformational for me. This isn't just about learning tools - it's about joining a movement where we all support each other through the journey.Don't underestimate the power of having a cohort going through the same challenges alongside you."

I love that irony you mention - using technology to solve the problems that poor technology adoption often creates. As we wrap up, what's on the horizon for Wise Humanity?

"We're focused on scaling our platform globally while staying true to our core mission of improving team dynamics and workplace culture. The irony isn't lost on me that we're using cutting-edge technology to solve the very problems that dysfunctional corporate cultures create. But now, instead of being intimidated by technology or outsourcing it, we're embracing it as domain experts who can build exactly what we envision."

As our conversation winds down, Pagnotta's journey exemplifies what many see as the future of entrepreneurship. In an era where AI-powered development tools are democratising software creation, the question isn't whether technology will change how businesses are built - it already has. The question is which founders will be first to fully embrace this new reality and use it to bring previously impossible ideas to life.

For Pagnotta and his fellow NoCodeLab.ai alumni, the answer seems clear: the future belongs to those willing to learn, adapt, and build together. As he puts it, there's real pride in what they're achieving - both personally and as a community of empowered entrepreneurs who refuse to let technical barriers limit their vision.
