In 2026 the most capable tools are agents that work end-to-end inside the systems your institution already uses. **Is AI safe to use with student data?** It depends entirely on the tool. Look for SOC 2 Type II certification, encryption at rest and in transit, clear UK data-residency commitments, and a contractual guarantee that your data will not be used to train the vendor's models.
